All You Need To Know About Aarogya Setu App

Aarogya Setu App is a collective initiative by the government to fight against COVID-19 in India. This Bluetooth-based COVID-19 tracker launched by the Government of India tries to determine the risk based on its user's location and keeps them informed in case they have had an encounter with a positive COVID-19 case within 6-feet proximity. Currently, the Aarogya Setu App has over 10 million-plus downloads. What is Aarogya Setu App?

Aarogya Setu App has been developed by the National Informatics Centre which is a part of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India. The aim of this App is to amplify the initiatives of the Government of India, particularly the Department of Health, in proactively reaching out to and informing the users of the app regarding the risks, best practices and relevant advisories related to COVID-19. 

 Benefits of Arogya Setu App

Aarogya Setu App is available for Android and iOS users. At present, the app supports 11 different languages - English, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil, Punjabi, Bengali, Oriya, Gujarati, and Marathi. The benefits of using Aarogya Setu App have been enlisted below: 

1- It works on Bluetooth-based technology and helps in determining risk based on the user's location. 

2- The risk factor is also location-centric as per the data available for that particular location. 

3- It keeps the user informed in case they have got in touch with the positive COVID-19 case within 6-feet proximity. 

4- The app recommends various measures to the user like Self Assessment Test, Social distancing, do's and don'ts, amidst COVID-19 crisis.

5- The Aarogya Setu App also keeps the user informed about several precautionary measures, and how to maintain social distancing in the times of this global pandemic. 

6- As per the statement by PMO, the app can also act as an e-pass facilitating travel from one place to another. 

7- In case the user is at high risk, the app will advise him/her to go for a test at a nearby testing center and call the toll-free number 1075 immediately.  

8- The app also has an in-built chatbot that answers all the basic questions related to coronavirus disease.

9- The users can also find the helpline numbers for all the states in India.

Finding COVID-19 symptoms using Aarogya Setu App

1- Open the app. 

2- Now look for the Self Assessment button towards the bottom of the screen. 

3- After clicking the button, you will be asked about your gender and age.

4- You will now be enquired about whether you are experiencing major symptoms like cough, fever or difficulty in breathing.

5- You will be further asked whether you have some past illnesses like Diabetes, Hypertension, Lung Disease or Heart Disease.  

6- Now the test will enquire about your travel history of the last 14 days.  

7- Further you will be asked whether you have lived with a COVID-19 patient or if you are a health worker who examined a positive COVID-19 case without protective gear. 

8- Answer all the questions honestly. 

9- Once you have answered the questions, the app will let you know about the infection risk. 

How to use Aarogya Setu App?

1- Download the Aarogya Setu App from Google Play Store for Android users or the App Store for iOS users. 

2- Select a language.

3- Switch on Bluetooth and Location from settings of your mobile and set the sharing to ‘always’. 

5- You now have to register so click on 'Register'.

6- Click on the 'I Agree' button.

7- Enter your mobile number. 

8- Enter the OTP received.

9- Now you can access the app. Take a self-assessment test, follow the guidelines, determine the risk factor in your area and more.
